Who are The Dukes?

We’re a collection of top-level professional musicians, with performance degrees and many individual credits that include composition awards, studio sessions, and national tours.  Together, we perform year-round: in Martha’s Vineyard, around New England, throughout the continental US, and abroad.  We play private events, corporate functions, festivals, and enough weddings that we should probably become wedding planners ourselves.  Music is our full-time job, and we treat all of our events with the time and focus they deserve.

But that’s not a particularly inspired description.  What sets us apart is the why.

At our core, The Dukes are a family.  We eat, work, and live together, and we show up to perform for two reasons: we love playing together, and we care about making sure that whatever gig we’re playing is the best it can possibly be.  We don’t believe this can be faked, and we’re confident that our passion shines through in every performance we give.  We have an obligation to every client to deliver an incredible show, and being fortunate enough to share the stage with our friends brings a cohesiveness that’s rare and an electricity that we all feed off of from the very first note.

Live music is an endangered species these days.  We understand the influence we have over each event we’re hired to play, and we feel truly blessed every time we have the opportunity to realize someone’s big day.  So who are the Dukes?  Yes, we’re the band with the experience and talent that you’re looking for to bring your event to life.  But we also love what we do, which is why we’re willing to bet that you’ll love what we do, too.
